I can't even believe this. It is crazy. How does my blog keep rising in the stats? I swear people are killing off their blogs that is what is has to be. I mean really. You have read my blog. If you haven't you just need to read a few entries to know that well, it isn't all that interesting. I should change the name to "This Will Bore You To Tears!" Ha!

Well, today Stephanie had her long awaited toe surgery. She seems to be doing well but the nerve block has not worn off yet. I am dreading when that happens. Steph is getting around good on her crutches. Her appetite is good. Her spirits are good. She looks GREAT! I don't look that good after just getting my teeth cleaned at the dentist. Really, she looks good.

Steffie did fall out of the bed a little while ago. She did not get hurt but getting her back on her feet without putting pressure on the foot that was just operated on was ten kinds of fun but she managed with me cheering her on. She also made it to the bathroom which was her destination without having any tinkle leaks despite the fall and all the extra time everything took her. Whew! The really interesting thing about her falling out of the bed is this(especially since she didn't get hurt), Steffie has one phone in her room and I have the other one in my room because if I am asleep I don't hear much of anything. My dad used to say that I could sleep through the Second Coming! I do however hear the phone ring if it is right by my head. Thus the telephone plan for emergencies. Well, with Steffie on the floor she would not have been able to get to the phone therefore I would have been unable to help her because I would have slept through the whole thing. That would not have been a good thing. Maybe we need more cowbell!

When we were coming home from the hospital...my mom was driving since I can't drive and, of course, Steph couldn't drive, and the plan was for me to go in the house first to see if the little dog had pooped because the kitchen is between the door and Steph's room. We were especially concerned because the little dog hadn't pooped overnight and didn't poop before we left this morning.

Well, I got into the house, inspected everything, gave the all clear and then we got Steffie in the house. As Steph and I were sitting in the living room resting the little dog, of course, did what...dropped her load! Hey, she had to wait until we were home so that we could appreciate it in all of its glory. Her deposit was rank as all get out too. I was glad to get it cleaned up and out of the way. Stinky, messy, little dog...that's our girl!

Most everything went really well at the hospital. The few problems weren't anything to write home about. I did have to walk all over the place. Thank goodness for my walker. It saved my life! I'd have never made it otherwise.

I had a good visit with my mom while Steph was in surgery. I don't think mom and I ever run out of anything to talk about. We are both chatterboxes!

Since we have been home we have had naps, I have cooked dinner, Steph's ice pack developed a leak in it and she has a few damp spots on her bed. We have been gathering together blankets and pillows to keep her foot well propped up and have developed a method to keep her bandage as clean as possible. She will have the same bandage on for two weeks. It could get gnarly between now and then so we were in search of a a plan but came up with one. YAY!!!!

Now we have the recovery period. I just pray that she does well. It is going to be a long haul and then we have to get the other foot done too. Woo hoo!

Your mention of a cowbell reminded me of a bell my grandparents had when I was little. The bell was passed down to my mom and then to me. It was very much like this Southern belle bell. I think ours had a clapper with the two legs and feet connected, but I could be wrong about that. This bell is missing one of its feet though. (There were two originally so I would talk 'em down.)

As an aside: stinky Jezzie! Phew! Blech! ;p;p;p

Mer, that is a precious bell. We have my Meema's bell somewhere in the house or storage unit. It is a precious and delicate antique brass bell. We used it when anyone was sick in my household. Even it we knew where it was I would sleep right through it and when we are awake I about 10 feet from Steph so I can hear her easily. (Little houses have great benefits at times.)

Jeszzi is a stinky poo for sure! LOL!!!
