My blog entry yesterday...

left a lot to be desired. I was so conflicted by issues and situations from the past that had come up as I was writing my novel that I was having a hard time adequately expressing myself. Part of me wants to just delete the entry and the other wants to leave it as a lesson in getting one's head on straight before writing on one's blog.

I think it is time to set aside my novel and let it simmer for a while. I can still count other writing for JulNoWriMo because the rules are much looser than for NaNoWriMo...so I can work on some flash fiction or personal essays. The flash fiction is still very "rough" and leaves much to be desired and yet I enjoy playing with it.

I think that as writers we need to know when to set a project aside and say, "Enough for now!" Of course, if one has a contract and a deadline that is not so easy to do so for those situations I have no advice. I do know what it is like to work with a deadline and for me the adrenaline has been my saving grace when my writing has become difficult during "crunch time."

I hope that we can all work through our story lines and plots with minimal pain and maximum satisfaction.

Not so bad
I don't think yesterday's post was all that bad. The thing about blogging is that it's not polished and I don't think anyone expects it to be. :) I'm glad you're writing is healing for you - much cheaper than a therapist, huh?
