...what a GOOD excuse for not blogging. I know some people only blog weekly or less but man I have friends who blog several blogs a week, post on Facebook, converse on Twitter and write several novels, novellas and/or short stories at a time. Man the pressure is really something. Geez Louise! An old broad just can't get a break. Don't tell me that people older than me accomplish TWICE as much as I do or more, I ALREADY know that and am embarrassed by my slacker tendencies.  I feel like if I could JUST get well enough to work full time again that I would get my GROOVE on and get back in to super Alpha bitch mode and get things done. I used to run circles around my coworkers and now little old ladies on oxygen run circles around ME, it is so humiliating!

I manage to keep up with the barest of basics but then peter out and can't get ahead to save my life. Things have been worse lately, I have ZERO energy and mega pain. I have had to ask Stephanie to fix  my drink for me several times in the past few weeks. When I ask for help getting a drink you know that I am in the dregs of energy or lack thereof or some such notion.

Needless to say, writing is NOT happening. If I can't think of ample fodder for a blog we know that Ms. Zippity Doo Da has zipped on out. I am THINKING of some things but just haven't gotten to them. My elbow is the size of a grapefruit and my hands are swollen. I live on Tylenol with Aspercreme rubbed in on the joints. If the "arther" and lupus are this bad in the summer what will winter bring. Oh I dread thinking of it.

Now this is not to say that I am in the pits of despair because I am not. I am trying to take care of business as best I can and just acknowledge that I am doing what I can and the rest will have to wait.

I am most worried about my mother. Her back was SEVERELY injured about eight weeks ago and she is not much better despite medical intervention and physical therapy. She was going to see if our chiropractor would be willing to see her today but I don't know if that happened. I can't find out until Sunday because I didn't call in time today and tomorrow is flea market day. Trust me mom goes to the flea market even if she is in agony. Daddy and Barb do most of the work but mom is there supervising. She doesn't let anything slack on her watch. I don't know how she does it. The drive alone would do me in, but she is a tough old bird and one hell of a woman so she goes and sallies forth. (I hope I have that spelled correctly! The dictionary backed me up, well I'll swan, it was good to be correct for a change!)

A friend of my from junior high and high school Drew, has been putting up some kickin' videos of Pink Floyd on a group we are both on in the realm known as Facebook. Due to this I have been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd. The videos have has chosen were filmed in Pompeii and are AWESOME!!!! If I know how to put a You Tube video on LJ correctly I would put one of them up. They are SO good. Drew is a good judge of music. He is also reading a Pete Dexter book that sounds interesting, I may have to see if the library has it. I could get it on Kindle but it is a little out of my price range. Hmm, I wonder if they have it on Paperback Swap. There's a thought. Hmmm!!!! I hate having to deal with library books. I am always afraid something will happen to them. I have read the book "Paris Trout" by Pete Dexter and it was good as was the movie with Dennis Hopper. I need to broaden my horizons some. I am not really reading like I once did. Maybe when I get new glasses that will change. We shall see!

It is 11:11 pm ~ this is an angel number, good luck for chick-a-lous and old broads! LOL!!! Whoops now it is 11: 12...the good luck is all over with.

Well, I guess I have covered what I have to say. I will add to please say a prayer for Little Ninja Baby, she needs to go home to her family. She is a fighter but it is time for her to be home safe and sound. Her family has been through so much and needs Ninja Baby home with them.

I shall sign off now.

Ciao!

I've been wondering how you are for a while. I kind of knew something was up because I didn't see you online as much. I really hope you feel better soon! I didn't realize you had lupus, too. (Or I'm not keeping very good track... ) Egad, I'm sorry. I used to know someone a long time ago-at my first job in this area--who had lupus. Definitely not a picnic. :(

I hope your mom got that chiropractor appointment. It's hard to go long without any info when you're worried about your mom or dad.

Pete Dexter is very good. I can recommend The Paperboy and God's Pocket, too. I haven't read any others because they haven't shown up at the thrift store, but I would in a minute. I might have read Deadwood as well, but I'm not sure. If it's the one with lots of Calamity and less Bill Hickok in it, I did and liked it.

Deadwood is the book my friend Drew is reading and The Paperboy has been recommended by another guy we both know. The other guy, Jim, went to 6th grade with me. I didn't remember him from there, he filled me in on that. Then he went to Catholic High and was friends with friends of mine. I didn't hang out with him but knew of him. Small world.

I have had lupus diagnosed since 1984 and it has really been kicking my fanny these past few weeks or so. I will get through this flareup like I have all the others and hopefully it will be a LONG time before it slaps me silly again.

I hope all is going well with packing.

Hugs,

Ardee-ann
