I keep thinking that the world will lighten up and that I won't have serious "stuff" on my mind when I come to blog. Well, that isn't going to happen any time soon...I think I am just going to have to practice denial! I actually did some of that when I was having fun with Mardi Gras stuff on Facebook. I was able to play with my avatar and cover photo and not have to worry about all of the crazy things that are going on in the world. I mean really life just needs to get a grip and lighten up. If I had the money to do so I would take out a full page ad in the New York Times, The Washington Post and the Times-Picayune that said, "Life...it is time for you to lighten up and get a grip." Yep, that's what I'd do. If I ever win the lottery I am going to get that ad published.

Why did I pick those news papers, well...the New York Times is my favorite paper (now that the Arkansas Gazette is toast), The Washington Post sponsors the blog, "She The People" which features some of my favorite women writers, especially Suzi Parker from Arkansas, and the Times-Picayune employs on of my buds from junior high and high school, Drew Broach. Drew is also one of the nicest guys I know. Hmmm, I guess I better darn well include The Okeechobee News because my dear friend and former locker mate from high school, Katrina Elsken is the editor of that newspaper. I suppose I should add the Arkansas Times to my list of papers to put the ad into also, assuming that would let me do such a thing.

Well now I have a plan for spending some of my filthy lucre if I should win the lottery. I will tell life to get a grip via very public platforms. I think that is as good a way to spend some "do-re-mi" as any. We all know that every print newspaper can use some advertising revenue.

I have other plans for my money if I should win the lottery (I am good at dreaming BIG) but they would not be so obvious and public like. I can tell you that I would give me a BIG KICK to have all of my bills paid off and have enough money in the bank to take care of any emergency that life could throw at me. Yep, that would be the best part of it all.

In the meantime I will tell you all Happy Valentine's Day and hope that love permeates your entire being. You see I don't think that Valentine's day has to be all about romantic love and that mushy stuff. I mean that is nice and all, but love of self and family are far more important. So I hope that you are feeling loving toward yourself and letting the "happy vibes" sing to your heart and soul as you dance and celebrate Valentine's Day.

I consider myself blessed. I love and I am loved. I love myself. I am not perfect but I am a good person. I may be a little weird, wild and crazy at times but hey, that is just part of my charm. If I didn't have flaws I might get a "big head" or something. I like me just the way I am, warts and all.  That is the same way I love my family and friends. Oh they irritate me sometimes but I am sure I irritate them too. The important thing is that there is a bond that binds us. It is a deep connection. My friends, including those who only know my via the virtual world know that I care about them and that if they need me that they will get emotional support and unconditional positive regard. That is what Valentine's Day is all about...it isn't chocolates, cupids and roses...it is unconditional positive regard. Who can ask for anything more?

May you be blessed this day. Feel the love, it is all around you...love travels on the breeze you can't miss it if you just open your heart.
