Julnowrimo is officially here and yet...

I have no clue about anything that I wish to write about. Oh, there are lots of things buzzing in my head but I don't know that they will ever make them to the keyboard. It seems that anything I say or think is bound to offend someone. It is as if I am not entitled to my own opinions or thoughts. It makes it hard to write when you are surrounded by such a "tempest in a teapot." LOL!!!

It seems that between decluttering, cleaning, taking care of other business and just trying to survive that my brain cells are bereft of creativity. I can think about what I need to be doing next but really things that speak of wonder, delight, whimsy and such elude me when it comes time to write. Oh how can this be...my mind is flooded at other times with words that prance like ponies in the rodeo parade. That sentence just made me think of a wonderful illustration in a children's book I once had. I can't recall the title of the book but there was a picture of dancing horses with beautiful plumes on their heads. I love the old illustrations in children's books of the past. The beauty of the artwork has been lost in generations past and now the drawings are rather hum-drum and ordinary rather than rich, colorful and complex.

In a conversation with Stephanie today I learned that her writer friends tend to get very political and send around controversial memes to that end. I was rather taken aback when I heard this. For the most part my writer friends tend to be very apolitical...they discuss their work, the process of writing, beta readers, editing, trouble shooting, friends, family, dogs, cats, darts, hard cider, school, work and even standing in line to purchase American Girl Dolls at Christmas time but there is seldom if ever a mention of politics and I have yet to see a political meme from any of them. Now some of them have used avatars of a political nature but really that is as far as it has gone. As Steffie described what she has seen from some of the artists I just didn't know what to think. Stephanie follows them because she wants to see their art not to see political memes. Truly I would not follow a writer if they were constantly sending around such things. I am all for free speech but that is why I think that people on Facebook should have two accounts if they are an "artiste" and want to share political notions. They can have a personal page and a professional page. What a concept! BTW, I would feel this way even if I agree with the politics of the "artiste" in question. Now there are some "artistes" who are naturally political. There is a difference in that instance. I guess it is all about what is expected. If you are expecting to see "pretty pictures" you really don't want to be bombarded with political memes now do you.

The world is an interesting place so many different people, so many differing perspectives, so much to see and learn. There is never a dull moment.

I hope that you have a lovely, temperate day filled with joy.

What if your journal became your Julnowrimo? Just a thought.

Well, I had decided that my journal was my JulNoWriMo already but my brain is tired and foggy so thinking of things to write about seems to be an exercise in futility and yet, we will see what I manage to come up with.
